Personal preferences over performance and price: A trade off?

Today I was working on a project with Nikki who is an amazing website architect. This "project" had his own ideas on site design and navigation and I noticed at the time of our call that we were spending too much time with the back and forth exchange of style ideas. Obviously, this back and forth exchange results in additional costs to our client and/or to us. Our client is an expert property manager but, he does not know much about website development, navigation or database design, site security and management. Therefore, the client and I decided to build the site according to well established industry best practices for design, site navigation, SEO and everything else we know! The result was that we finished the project under budget and before our deadline.

The main point is that now the client has the ability to spend time focusing on more important issues including social networking, blogging, newsletters and CRM.
